Home of the Week: A historic warehouse-turned-loft in the Beltline

*High School Musical voice* What time is it? Calgary Home of the Week time! It’s time to explore the best of the city’s real estate market, pals. This week, we’ve found a gem of a loft in one of the city’s most historic buildings. What says “I’m a cool downtown person” more than living in a converted warehouse loft? Pretty much nothing.
CALGARY HOME OF THE WEEK

This home is in the Hudson Lofts of the Beltline. Previously, it was a warehouse. Some relics remain, like the kinda scary industrial elevator. The room itself is currently decorated a little vintage and a little modern, so we’d say it’s paying homage to the olden days pretty well!
This is a one bedroom loft, so the kids are gonna have to be on the street. Kidding, but it would be ideal for a young professional couple, we’re thinking. A gracious entryway leads into a home where no corner was left unattended. These people did the most making this place look completely finished and polished.

A custom built-in home office makes it ideal for someone who works from home once in a while. Also, it has the absolute luxury of two parking spaces, so neither you nor your sweetie needs to be walking!
In 1200 square feet of space, you’ve got 11-foot ceilings and open flow living and kitchen space. The original fireplace and vintage-style sofas contrast against modern, colourful wall art and sleek black accents. It’s all about mixing old and new in here!
The master bedroom is all exposed brick, and they’ve gone ahead and carpeted the floor in here to keep your toesies cozy. The real question on our minds: how does one hang art on a brick wall? We’ve never figured that one out ourselves.

While the master ensuite is well-appointed, an extra half bath near the entry gives you and your guests the privacy you need when it comes to *ahem* bathroom business.
This Calgary home is the epitome of refined urban living. All that to say, it’s a sweet loft and we wish we could buy it. The $639,900 is fair, but still a bit more than our pocket change. Check it out right here if you’d like!
