Catch the best in adventure film at the Banff Mountain Film Festival
Gas is expensive and the weather sucks, but the mountains are always calling! Don’t worry, you’re only kind of crazy. We hear them too, and honestly, they just won’t shut up. For two weekends only, keep the voices at bay with the Banff Mountain Film Festival!
For over 40 years this festival has toured, shown, and celebrated the best in icy, bold, scenic cinematography. These films explore remote landscapes, mountain sports, and elevation culture.
In the beginning, they would only show 4 films at a time. That was it. Believe it or not, these 4 films were even chosen and rented from the library. Yeah, talk about a humble beginning.

Now the BCMFF runs not one, but TWO unique programs, both with speakers and visuals over thirteen screenings. Catch one or all of 17 movies, each with a different topic of focus.
Chances are if you can do it on a mountain, they’ve probably got a feature all about it. Seriously, you can admire films on base jumping, skiing, climbing and biking. You name it, they got it.
