So, you want to go travelling this year? Good call, but do you know how Canada stacks up against the world’s most powerful passports in 2020? A passport can either be your ticket to see the world or the exact opposite, so it’s nice to see that we’re doing alright.
Henley revealed that the most powerful passport for 2020 is actually Japan’s. With 191 countries to head to without a visa, the country is only 4 short of being able to travel to every other country in the world without a visa. Japan only managed to narrowly beat out Singapore, too, who has access to 190 countries in total.

Meanwhile, we (Canada) tied for 9th place with a grand total of 183 total countries. That puts us alongside Australia and New Zealand, but we’re one behind our neighbours to the south. We wonder what country is the deciding factor? Maybe we’ll start travelling the world and see for ourselves.
So, if you’re looking to maybe become a citizen of another country in the near future, keep this list in mind. You can check out the Henley Passport Index in full by clicking this link.
