An exclusive look inside Calgary’s first shuffleboard bar
As we get ready to roll into a new decade, Shuffle Club is ushering in a one-of-a-kind nightlife experience in Calgary as the city’s only bar with 30-foot shuffleboard lanes. With an intimate bar, cozy but very boogie-friendly dance floor, and tropical drinks, patrons can expect Shuffle Club to feel like the home they’ve always wanted.
Described as a Home & Away’s deviant little cousin, Shuffle Club is tucked away in the basement of their new residency in Victoria Park. Shuffle Club is a love child from two of Calgary’s industry players, The Hifi Club and CRAFT Beer Market.
Cue the pop and chips, Shuffle Club pays homage to when parties were thrown in your parent’s basement. Feel comfortable, get social and wake up the next morning saying, “that was the best night of my life!”.
Whether you’re looking for an after-work hangout, a unique date night, or the perfect spot to burn the midnight oil with friends old and new, Shuffle Club is your new spot. Plus, you can switch it up without even leaving the building.

The basement of 1207 1st Street SW has lived many extraordinary lives, if these walls could talk, man. Known in the 60s as The Depression, a coffee shop that employed a young Joni Mitchell. This basement was the first place Joni played her folk songs in front of her very first crowds, while she was attending ACAD.
By the end of the decade, the basement broke cultural ground as Club Carousel, Calgary’s first gay bar. The revitalized basement and decor now is a testament to the throwback theme and pays tribute to the basement’s history with photographs and memorabilia featuring both Club Carousel years and Joni Mitchell’s residency.
Every day we’re shuff-fafa-llin’, well Wednesday to Saturday at least. Fridays and Saturdays will have some of Calgary’s leading ladies, Joanna Magik & DJ Reece, on the original sound system from Calgary’s iconic Hifi Club.
All in all, Shuffle Club honours the glory days of nights in and out. Come by for a game, a drink, and a conversation. Odds are you’ll want to stay for a few more of each.
