Happy Hour of the Week: $4 beers, wine & hi-balls at YYC’s hot new spot

Hi Calgs, how you holding up in this weather? We’ll be honest, we’re already over winter, which is why it’s the perfect time to highlight a new Calgary happy hour of the week! The Flames have won six straight games, so let’s roll with that heat at one of Calgary’s hottest sports bars, Home & Away.

HAPPY HOUR OF THE WEEK

Escape those blizzard-induced blues at the newly reopened Home and Away on 1st Street SW. After a six month hiatus, the bar has made a comeback, re-establishing a presence late last month. It’s gone from a more traditional sports bar to a trendy yet approachable space, and we’re definitely fans.

They’ve stayed pretty true to the original location in that there’s still tons of TVs, games (by the bar and right at your table), a solid food menu, and above all else, a great beer selection. Which is probably why you’re here, reading this.

Let’s discuss their happy hour, shall we? Every Monday to Friday and all day Sunday, enjoy a 14 oz $4 homebrew off of their pretty extensive list. They’ve got everything from the usual suspects (Coors and Bud) to local draft like Cold Garden, Trolley 5 and Wildrose.

They also have house wines by the glass, and hi-balls on for $4, so don’t feel obligated to drink those heavy carbs…eat ’em instead! In addition to the Home & Away happy hour drink menu, they also have rotating sips and food specials daily, which you can view here.

Home & Away happy hour runs from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, which is plenty of time to hit it up right after work! Happy happy hour, Calgary!
