Well, this weekend we were going to be in the kitchen cooking prawns with our baby, but things change. People change. Trap Queen rapper, Fetty Wap, is in Calgary this weekend headlining a Grey Cup show, but he’ll also be filming a music video in our downtown area… and you better believe we’ll try to sneak an appearance. Closed sets won’t stop us!
Fetty Wap blew up in 2014 after releasing the song Trap Queen, which as we’re sure you remember, was huge. Since it’s release the video has massed over 600 million views on Youtube and has been referenced in countless memes. He blew up again with 679 feat. Monty in 2015.

This isn’t the first time in the last few months Calgary has played backdrop for a popular artists’ music video! Diplo and The Jonas brothers featured the Stampede in a video for Lonely back in September and the video racked up over a million views in a matter of hours.
Fetty Wap will be performing in Calgary at McMahon Stadium as part of the Grey Cup Festival, on Friday, which will also feature hip hop duo Cartel Madras. We’re not sure what song will be featured in the music video being filmed this weekend, but we do know it will involve a big house in Calgary and lingerie. Would it even be a hip hop video if it didn’t?
