The incredible Lions’ Festival of Lights returns this month

Man, oh man. Holiday markets and festive displays are starting to pop up all around Calgary and we couldn’t be more excited. One of the biggest ones of the year, the Lions’ Festival of Lights, is getting ready to open up at the end of this month.
The biggest free drive-by lights display in all of Calgary sits alongside 14th Street NW and has delighted festive fans for three decades. In fact, this is the 33rd year in a row that the display has been put up.

Over half-a-million bulbs across 16,000 strings will make up the gorgeous showcase. You can catch it by driving by or take a walk through the snowy village spot for a more in-depth experience. Throw a little Bailey’s in that hot chocolate of yours and boom! You’ve got a real festive night out. You’re welcome.
Also, the Lions’ Festival of Lights is now 99% green, running on LED lights and efficient power. That’s what we like to hear! Thousands of volunteer man-hours are put into the display every year, so make sure you stop by and enjoy just how good their hard work looks.
