Outside the Shape
Outside the Shape is the coziest, cutest little store in Calgary that showcases products from local artists and businesses. The space makes you feel at home, and although George, the shop dog, isn’t exactly “Design Inspo”, he definitely helps with the vibe.
You’ll find the perfect gifts and home knick-knacks perched on wood and copper shelves. Pull inspiration from the displays, the gifts, and really..the whole store.
Distilled
Designed based on a contemporary, living room-like space, Distilled gives off a comfortable at-home feel. With some details like Cararra marble counters and Italian stone tiles, it gives off the right amount of elegant, without feeling stark.
Come get a mani, blow out, grab a coffee, or a glass of wine, and soak in the gender-neutral design.
Flores & Pine
The design of this rustic contemporary restaurant in Bearspaw is where nostalgia meets new memories. The dark brown finishings and woodsy details of the previous Bears Den have been stripped and replaced with a light and warm palate.
Certain elements have been kept to pay homage to it’s past and these elements make it a true modern farmhouse design and we’re totally in love with it.
The Commons
This radically different “office space” is located in a rare vintage building in the community of Ramsay. The modern-vintage industrial style is a playful rejection of traditional corporate offices and the furnishings are more like those you’d find in a swanky home.
We love the industrial vibe of the exposed wood beams and brick. You can tell the space was designed by and for entrepreneurs. With chalkboard walls, tons of unique meeting spaces and an open-concept format, your creative juices will be free-flowing here.
Bridgette Bar
Located in the heart of the Design District, Bridgette Bar big shoes to fill and they ever. Heavily inspired by the shakers of the ‘60s and ‘70s, this beltline restaurant is mid-century modern at it’s finest.
The industrial building was maintained and kept honest and the decor brings together vintage lighting, layered textures, and era-appropriate art. Every corner is a little different and you might find yourself feeling a little too at home.
We mean, they do have a living room set up with a mid-century cone wood-burning fireplace.. and a vintage motorcycle hanging from the roof.
