Construction has finally begun for the new Calgary Farmers Market!

Good news, fellow vegetable enthusiasts! The Calgary Farmers Market is getting a second location! After two long years of prep work and promises, construction finally began last week. The doors won’t open until 2021, but we’re ready!

The Calgary Farmers Market changed the game for local business owners and gave Calgarians a grocery store alternative in 2004 when they established the first location; now they’re about to do it all over again!

The 50,000 square foot retail space in Greenwich Village will be home to over 70 local family-owned shops and is expected to create more than 200 jobs, which is incredible.

“Calgary Farmers’ Market West will be more than just another market; we’re building a community of like-minded small businesses that gain stability and success seeing new customers every week.” Stacey Petropoulos, General manager of the CFM said on their Facebook page.

The new market will give people in the further out communities an opportunity to buy local produce conveniently, finally! It’s about time they spread the love, so we’ll be waiting…very impatiently.
