Looking to give a four-legged friend a fur-ever home? Well, this weekend is definitely the time to do it because, for the next three days, the City of Calgary is offering half-priced adoptions. You’re crying, we’re crying, everyone is crying.
The City decided this was the right thing to do after more animals than usual were brought in to the shelter; this is particularly true for cats.
Do you know what’s even better than adopting one cat? Adopting two! There’s really no such thing as too many cats, everything you’ve heard is a myth.

All of the animals up for adoption have already been spayed and neutered, vaccinated, AND microchipped, which basically already saves you a fortune; but you’ll also get a free six-month animal license, a record of the animals’ medical history, and a six week trial of pet insurance; just in case!
It really doesn’t get better than that! However, there are a few very important things that you should consider before jumping into getting a pet, like veterinary costs, full-grown pet size, lifespan, and habitat. It’s a serious commitment!
If you’re ready and willing, you can visit Calgary Animal Services this weekend between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm. Dogs cost $108.50, while cats are $81.50, but making a new best friend is priceless.
