What is better than a few glasses of wine with friends after a long week at work? Well that depends, are you at the Rocky Mountain Wine and Food Festival? Because if you are, the answer is “literally nothing.” Why waste another Saturday night on the couch with a bottle of whatever you found on sale at the closest liquor store?
This weekend, Alberta’s biggest wine and food festival is back and we couldn’t be more excited. When we say big, we really mean it. It’s practically the Oscars of Alberta food and beverage culture. Complete with a red carpet from end to end, sip, slurp and pair some of the best food and wine that the province has to offer.
A Ticket to RMWFF will get you access to see local DJ, tasting opportunities for over 300 wines from 15 different countries, and more than 480 beers, ciders, and spirits. See, huge right? Your local bar could never.

Take a stroll down Bubbly Boulevard! Raise a glass at the newest and most celebratory area of the festival. Wet your whistle, or champagne flute at an assortment of specialty booths.

You know when you go to a restaurant and you can’t decide what to order? You want the tacos and the charcuterie board, but you also want the Sliders and a beer. Choices. At Rocky Mountain Wine and Food Festival, there’s no need for commitment. Taste a little bit of everything, guilt, and stress-free. Your small plate is already professionally paired, so all you’ll have to worry about is enjoying yourself, and then also getting an Uber after the event. May we suggest pre-booking?
There are a ton of photo opportunities this year so feel free to let a little loose. Now we don’t condone any irresponsible drinking, but if you do get a little wild and forget a thing or two, photographic evidence will fill in the blanks. The best part? You can have a great time in good conscience! With the help of you and festival sponsors, Rocky Mountain Wine and Food Festival has been able to contribute more than $200,000 dollars to date since 1998; This year they hope to work with organizations like Mealshare, The Calgary Foodbank, and the budding chefs of SAITs culinary campus. If you’d like to help more directly, guests are encouraged to bring a monetary or food donation to the event.
The Rocky Mountain Wine and Food Festival runs from October 18 and 19, and tickets ranging from $20 to $38 can be purchased here. Sampling coupons will be required, but will be available during the event!
