Late Billionaire Jim Shaw’s $11 Million Calgary home is going to auction

Is it time for Calgary’s Home of the Week? Nope. Not quite yet. But we are about to take a peek inside one of the most prestigious properties sold in Calgary house-story. The incredible home was sold in 2013 and once belonged to the late Jim Shaw of mega-company Shaw Communications. Man, did the guy ever live a life of opulence. Wooowie.
Now don’t let your jaw hit the floor too hard, but the house sold for a whopping $11 million dollars. This was probably pocket change to a man who presided over a company that was worth $3.7 billion in 2010 when he stepped down as CEO.

But why are we talking about this now? Well, the estate, which was the most expensive home ever sold in Calgary at the time, is actually up for auction, and they’re cutting you a deal! This bad boy can be yours for only $10.9 million. What a steal!

The home comes fully loaded and as is, meaning it’s totally furnished. The 900 square meter, three-level beast includes six massive bedrooms, five bathrooms, and three powder rooms. A glass ceiling dome inspired by NYC’s Guggenheim Museum, boujee, and a rooftop patio with a freaking hot tub.
The Shaw Mansion also includes a gourmet kitchen, formal dining room, two beautiful fireplaces, and floor to ceiling windows showing off a ridiculous view of downtown Calgary. Also, there is a library, media room, gym, and wine cellar. Casual.

Did you catch all that? Now, you’ve got some time to count your pennies because bidding for the home opens November 12 online here, and will sell to the highest bidder on the 15th. So, good luck! When you win, we expect a killer housewarming… and an invitation to live with you, maybe?
