Calgary’s tastiest smokehouse is all about great food & community

Calgary may have its fair share of smokehouses, but Smoke N Fusion is serving up unique dishes in a special atmosphere that makes them a knockout standout!
Chef Stephen Szostak (who previously owned The Fine Diner) opened Smoke N Fusion with a vision of building relationships and building community through food. They work closely with not-for-profits like Impact Society and the Calgary Chef’s Association. Also, they regularly donate the use of their space and provide lunch to the Impact Society. We totally dig that.
We had a chance to sit down with Executive Chef Kosta Galanos and Chef Szostak, who worked together at The Fine Diner, and it’s evident that relationships are something they live and breathe.
Their outgoing and “need to please” attitudes instantly make you feel like old friends or family. It’s hard not to love them and the atmosphere they create!
First and foremost, Smoke N Fusion is a restaurant. They have a massive offering of international dishes with a focus around smoked meats, in case the name of the place didn’t tip you off.
From the delicious and popular House Smoked Beef Brisket to their equally delicious Pan Seared Kangaroo Loin, there isn’t anything on the menu that we wouldn’t try. Yep, even kangaroo! Trust us, it’s delicious.
They even have a Smoke N Vegan Brisket for our herbivore friends! The majority of their menu is served family-style which creates more interaction between guests and also reflects the community relationship aspect that is so important to Chef Szostak.
Guests also have an option to sit at the Chefs Island which faces the open kitchen. If you ask us, these are the best seats in the house! Interaction with the Chefs is expected and don’t be surprised if a few extra pieces of meat show up on your plate for you to sample, compliments of the Chef. Oh, and did we mention their HeeHaw Brownie Supreme? Get the full size, you won’t regret it.
